Barone is one of the four Šibenik Fortresses worth a visit if you are around, it holds a special place in the hearts of all the people of Šibenik.

Barone Riserva 2011 is a big bold red dry wine at 15.5% Alc. with deep garnet color.
Intriguing wine, complex and appealing notes of dried Figs, carob, dark fruit, local Mediterranean herbs, leather and tar with a pronounced and long finish.

1680 bottles produced and bottled in May 2017, five years after the vintage. Released after one year in bottle.

Our Barone started its life with the early harvest on the 24th of August 2011. Cab was rich and dense with about 10-15% of raisiny grapes and we added about 30% of Plavina directly in the bin to lower down the natural sugars and bring back some of the acidity. The result is a very special wine with 15,5% abv, a one or two in a decade, a fortress.

Fermented in open vats and stainless steel tanks with multiple daily hand punch-downs/pigeage. Aged in small oak barrels of Slavonian oak for 18 months.
